Terms of Service

In effect from September 20, 2026 · version 2026-09-20

These terms are the agreement between you and Skholhouse. We have tried to write them so that a busy parent can read them. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

What Skholhouse is

Skholhouse helps homeschooling parents keep records of their children's learning, draft study plans from a child's interests, and look back on the week. It is a tool for you, the parent. It is not a school, a curriculum provider, a tutor, or a substitute for your own judgement.

Who may use it

You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of the children whose information you enter, or have that person's permission. Children may not create accounts. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your email secure, since that is how you sign in.

About our recommendations

Skholhouse's recommendations reflect choices we have made about what serves children and families well:

AI-drafted content

Plans, reviews and the sorting of your day's summary are drafted by artificial intelligence. They can contain mistakes: a book may be out of print or not exist as described, an activity may not suit your child, a record may be sorted wrongly. Nothing is saved from a day summary until you confirm it. Always check books and materials yourself, and supervise your children; anything involving tools, heat, water, animals, chemicals, roads or people you do not know needs an adult present. You are responsible for deciding what is safe and suitable for your own children.

Not legal advice

Skholhouse helps you keep records and shows some of what certain states ask for, with the date we last checked. Homeschool laws differ by state and change. We are not lawyers and nothing in the app is legal advice. Meeting your state's requirements remains your responsibility.

Translations

Skholhouse is written in English. The Spanish, Italian and Russian versions of the app, and plans, reviews and other content drafted in those languages, are produced with the help of artificial intelligence. We do our best to check them, but a translation can contain errors or awkward wording, and it may not carry the exact meaning of the English, particularly where it describes what a state’s law asks of you.

Where a translation and the English differ, the English version is the one that counts. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss or inconvenience caused by an inaccurate translation.

We keep a public list of the words and phrases we are still having checked by native speakers, and take them off as they are confirmed: see “Translations under review” (skholhouse.com/translations, and inside the app). If you spot a mistake, please tell us at hello@skholhouse.com.

Your content

What you put into Skholhouse — your records, notes, photos and the words you type — remains yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to run the service for you. You also agree that we may use information that does not identify you, including AI-drafted plans with names and family details removed and totals such as typical activity lengths by age, to improve the service and to offer ready-made plans to other families. We will never show another family your children's names, your notes, your photos or your own words.

Using Skholhouse fairly

Price

Skholhouse is free to use during its early-access period. When paid plans begin we will tell you in advance, show you the price clearly, and never charge you without your agreement. If you decide not to continue, you may ask for a copy of your records.

Changes, interruptions and ending

We are a small family business and Skholhouse is still growing. Features may change, and the service may occasionally be unavailable. You may stop using it and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other families at risk. If we ever decide to close Skholhouse, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to take your records with you.

Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep your records safe and the service dependable, but we provide Skholhouse as it is, without promises that it will be error-free or fit a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, Skholhouse and the people who run it are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits rights the law does not allow us to limit.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@skholhouse.com; most problems can be solved by a conversation.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will ask you to read and accept the new version the next time you open the app.
